After weeks of nonstop travel, life finally slows down… sort of.

This week, Herm and Kristin share stories from an unforgettable Father’s Day that included their first real round of golf, a surprise karaoke night with a legendary “Karaoke Cowboy,” and the hilarious realization that today’s kids have turned annoying their parents into an actual trend called “rage bait.”

Along the way, they talk about learning new hobbies as adults, celebrating the little moments with family, surviving molten-hot pizza logs, and why parenting teenagers requires equal parts patience and humor.

Sometimes the best memories aren’t the big vacations—they’re the random nights that turn into unforgettable stories.

SPEAKER_02

Hello, boys and girls. Welcome to another episode of Herm's House Podcast. I am your host, Herm. How do you do? And this is my lovely wife and co-host, Miss Christine. Hebbe.

SPEAKER_06

Hola.

SPEAKER_02

How do you do?

SPEAKER_06

I'm fine. How are you?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm good. Thanks. What are you doing?

SPEAKER_06

I'm just here.

SPEAKER_02

Just here.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_06

Is that your phone vibrating over there?

SPEAKER_02

It just did. Wow. This is my workflow.

SPEAKER_06

Wow. How unprofessional.

SPEAKER_02

What? I didn't know we were professional on this show. Cool. Anywho, I work now, dude. It's I gotta make a living for this household.

SPEAKER_06

You're the one that's gonna take your lifestyle. You're the one that said we're gonna record.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_06

So just saying.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's fair.

SPEAKER_06

You should know.

SPEAKER_02

I should know. Still a work phone. Either way. Um, well, welcome to another episode. Um we um we had quite the eventful weekend yet again, but we are going into um a much, much slower yet more like much busier like era, I guess.

SPEAKER_06

Um that's 100% true. Slow? What what is this slow your own?

SPEAKER_02

Because we don't really have to go anywhere. When we do go anywhere, it's just for like the game. Instead of a whole weekend like we've been doing, like we just did, like we went to Mariano's football camp at NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona, which is a four-ish, four and a half hour drive.

SPEAKER_06

And oh, you're transitioning into the story every day. I thought we were talking about how what the difference is between slow and fast.

SPEAKER_02

No, because we were saying, I'm saying that we are transitioning to a much slower yet busier era because we're not having to go to Texas, although we do have to go to Texas in August.

SPEAKER_06

This is why I'm very confused at what you're trying to share with everybody because we've been traveling every single weekend. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And we're not going to be doing that anymore.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, we still have another weekend of travel coming up.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's why I said heading into it.

SPEAKER_06

And then we immediately start football.

SPEAKER_02

January 6th. Nope, July 6th. That's a different day.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and then we have to go take Layla.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. That's not till mid-August.

SPEAKER_06

Yes, but I think we're still going to be busy.

SPEAKER_02

And so you're I don't feel like you're going to listen to what I just said. Um that's why I said I'm confused at what you're trying to share. For the past, I don't know, six weeks we've been traveling. We've been to Texas, we've been to Nevada, and we're gonna go to California.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so you're saying we're our traveling.

SPEAKER_02

Our traveling is gonna be to a game.

SPEAKER_06

Significantly less.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. To a game, come home. Um our Friday nights and Saturday mornings are going to be filled with nothing but football.

SPEAKER_06

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Um in August, we have to take Layla to um school. All right, go be in the house.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, so you're just talking about travelings, like slowing down where we're not having like four trips a month. We're only gonna have like one trip a month.

SPEAKER_02

Correct.

SPEAKER_06

Okay, got it. Okay. No, I'm I'm tracking now. I was like very confused. I was like, Where we're still gonna be going fast. There's still gonna be stuff happening. Like, there's no slowing down for the Herm house.

SPEAKER_02

Probably 79% of the crowd was like, oh yeah, how are you not getting this?

SPEAKER_06

I wouldn't say 90% of the crowd.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I actually I said 99%.

SPEAKER_06

Well, that's why I said I wouldn't say 90. I would say like 40-50. Nah. Yeah. Half is like trying to figure out what you're talking about overall. I think half the time people were like, what is Herm saying right now? I doubt it. And the other half is like, okay, sure, I think we get it, but carry on.

SPEAKER_02

I even said we're going somewhere else every other weekend or every weekend for the past six weeks, and we're not gonna have to do that anymore after this next trip.

SPEAKER_06

Well, you just made it sound like we're our life is gonna slow down and it's not.

SPEAKER_02

And then I even followed that up with saying it's gonna be much slower, yet even busier.

SPEAKER_06

But it's not slower. But that I think that's where it threw me off. You said it's gonna be slower. I don't think it's gonna be slower at all.

SPEAKER_02

Traveling to Cienega for football practice?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, but then you have to 11-minute drive. Yeah, but it's managing the team now, and Gordy's birthday's coming up, and yeah, there's gonna be fundraisers. Like, there's there's no slowing down. School's gonna start. Get out of here.

SPEAKER_02

I don't do anything for school.

SPEAKER_06

So slow, okay. Let's okay, rewind this whole thing. Life's gonna slow down for her.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_06

I even said You just said life is gonna slow. Going, it's gonna get slow.

SPEAKER_02

But slow. You're just not good at listening today. It's not your fault.

SPEAKER_06

No, you said you said slow, right? And you no, you just reiterated you guys can you just reiterate slow. Oh my gosh, everybody is with me. And you heard him say it's gonna slow. You said slow, those of you but busy. Slow but busy.

SPEAKER_02

This one's my brain. He's showing like cups. Mine's big.

SPEAKER_06

And he's trying to explain something.

SPEAKER_02

That's so much in it. But I'm not and hers.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's quite the opposite.

SPEAKER_02

Rattles around.

SPEAKER_06

I think it's quite the opposite.

SPEAKER_02

It's hard to keep up.

SPEAKER_06

No, it's not about keeping up, it's about saying things correctly or in a set in a way that might like makes sense.

SPEAKER_02

Whatever helps you manage.

SPEAKER_06

Because you just contradicted your own self. Nope. I said it's gonna be slow for you. We're like, I didn't say slow. You did say slow.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_06

Should we re-like? I could probably put an edit right now where it goes, I can edit it and say, Oh, it's gonna be slow but busier. And like put it there and be like, oh, I just can't do it while we're doing like plain. I wish I had like a someone I could say, hey, replay that that tape where he where he says it, and they can like go back to the beginning. Yeah, beginning of this conversation where you said slow but busier.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, slows down. Slows down in a sense of us no longer having to gather four kids into a car, traveling X amount of hours, which in the I mean, look at our driving in the past six weeks. It has been significant. Again, Nevada, Texas, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, all like all those areas. We're all over the place. And these upcoming weeks, the furthest we're gonna have to drive is Sierra Vista. Do we go to Sierra Vista for Maricopa? I guess a little further.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. I'm bored of this conversation now, though.

SPEAKER_02

An hour away, hour and a half, maybe. I'm over it. Yeah. But anywho, so this past weekend, so we had on to the next quite the busy weekend yet again because all the travel, yet again.

SPEAKER_06

This past weekend. Oh my gosh, it was his last weekend. That's insane. How fast these weeks go.

SPEAKER_02

I know. Yeah, we were in uh Mariano had a football camp at NAU, Northern Arizona University for the U non-universitable peoples. Um big camp had a lot of schools there. Um he's he was showing out as a receiver. I think he did an amazing job. There was a lot of kids there that were roughly his size, but significantly stockier, um, just bigger. And he played right alongside with him.

SPEAKER_06

He was he did better than a lot of people.

SPEAKER_02

He had no, you could tell he wasn't nervous. I mean, to me, it looked like he was just doing his thing and he was did it very well. And me being a former ref in the high school uh era, like in the high school level, so many of the the players that that were covering him, I'd be like, well, that's a flag. That's a flag. It's just and I I I I genuinely do my absolute best to to remove any and all biases whenever it comes to the rules of the game. So just because it was my son going up against him, that didn't mean nothing to me. It was like, well, if he's if it's not holding, it's not holding. I don't care, but it sure definitely was a lot of places that uh, you know, I feel like he still got past them and did well. He got to talk to a couple of coaches from uh bunch of different uh areas, one of them being Southeast Oklahoma University or Oklahoma State University or something like that, but it's not OSU or OU. It's um a Division II school, I believe, which we've been saying, Division II and up, man. Let's go. You know, whatever gets him into school and and keeps him going, I think would be awesome. Um he has a very bright future, maybe not as a player, but definitely as a coach or uh or like uh an agent or something in the game. He just he's he's I feel like he's gonna belong to the game for the rest of his life. But you know, that's time will tell. But it was a lot of fun. I love Flagstaff. That was really my first time that I had ever been like in Flagstaff. We've stayed around it, near it, on the outskirts, stuff like that, but never been in like the little downtown area. I guess what was it? It was like where where we went to get lunch. Um like the lumberjack something or another. It was um it was cool. They got big old mason jar beers, and um that was that was fun. The weather was awesome, it was like 80 degrees. Um, I think the coolest thing was waking up because it had full-on blackout curtains and we stayed in bed till I don't know, 9 30, 10 o'clock.

unknown

8.

SPEAKER_06

8 30.

SPEAKER_02

It was late. Well, we're usually out of bed at like 5. 5 30 because our room doesn't have blackout blinds.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, it was fun.

SPEAKER_06

Um Yeah, I think um it was cool going there and seeing like the football facilities and the meeting room. The meeting room was really cool, and just getting to see like where the players and I hope like it gives him some kind of motivation to like see all that stuff and want to do it, but I don't know. I I mean like going into it, I want him to do the best he can and and show up and show out, which he did. Like, I have like a bad habit of comparing all the time, not just with my kids, but like myself and everything. And I'm just seeing these kids walk in and I'm seeing the actual players. So you can see the players were helping out the camp on the from the NAU team, and they're just big guys, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like bigger than you, babe, like bigger, more muscular, like a terrible example, like bigger than this incredibly average person. I'm I don't think I could be even more average, but whatever, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Well, I think, like, just overall, just seeing all these big guys out there, and like even the camp goers, like bigger, like you were saying, and like I could do nothing but compare. I get mad at myself, like as just a mom, and I'm like, dang it, I gave him bad jeans.

SPEAKER_02

Did you see the kid? There was this one big old white kid coming from the the camp before, and the camp before, which is crazy about that, is they were the the early uh camp, my was the uh the afternoon camp. The early camp was the younger kids, so like freshmen, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The underclassmen. Some of these guys, man, walking out. I'm like freaking ginormous.

SPEAKER_02

Like 6'2, 6'3, just freaking 300 pounds. What do you feed these kids? 15 years old, probably insane. Out of here, dude.

SPEAKER_06

So I kind of like, I mean, I sit there and I was like, I overthink, overthink, overthinked, overthink, overthinking.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You overthink.

SPEAKER_06

Um, a lot while I was sitting there and I felt bad. Like, like, I'm sorry, son. You didn't get it.

SPEAKER_02

Which is hilarious because Cristiano is gonna be 6'2. He's already 5'10. 5'10, he's already talking to me.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know, it's just I guess it is the hand you were dealt as a but he's real, I mean, like I said, player-wise, performance-wise, he did amazing. Like some of those guys I would see him go up with, and I was getting really nervous, like, oh no. And he like showed up. And he, this guy that stole, like I felt like he stood like twice the height of Mariano.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Like twice the height of Mariano. He like just took him out, went around him, got the ball. So skill-wise, Mariano's got it. And I think, I mean, I feel like he has what it takes to play at the next level. Um, we're at that teenage state though, where it's like he knows better. He hasn't done some of the things that like he needs to do, like reaching out to coaches and stuff like that. Or maybe like, I don't know, because I really don't know how to get him to the next level, or to to make sure that he's getting to play at the next level because we've never experienced it. I never got to do it. So I'm like, I hope I'm doing everything that I need to do as a mom to get him there. Because you're like, follow and on Instagram, and of course, my algorithm hears us talking about it or knows that I'm, you know, buying coat uh camping or camp stuff for him. And so it's like in my algorithm, it's like, oh, as a mom or as a parent of an athlete, you should be doing all of these things starting his freshman year. And I'm like, well, it's a little too late for that. The lady on Instagram said, Yeah, so I just hope that like we're doing everything we need to do to get him to where he needs to be.

SPEAKER_02

Um, we're doing a million times more than what either of our parents did for us to get to or through or into college. So if again, that's why I tell them as far once they get into college, like you're on your own as far as um like financials and things like that. Like, we have done so much to get you to a platform that now all you have to do is keep going up. Like we started on the ground, you're you're a hundred feet in the air, just gotta keep going up. If you decide to do the opposite direction, that's on you. Right. They're already gonna get free school for going to the uh school in the state of Texas, they're already gonna get a stipend because I'm 100% stable veteran. Uh they're they're they have a car they have that we pay for, like they have all this stuff. It's like now now go on and and bloom, you little little flower, bloom. Um, but we'll see. Uh we're really hoping there's gonna be a senior year that he's going to um kind of show out, maybe gets turn some heads and I just nerf wrecking, I think.

SPEAKER_06

And I just I want him to get the best opportunities and we'll see.

SPEAKER_02

I say it all the time, and I'm gonna say it starting when the football season starts again because I get to flip my head around and go to Hermes football minute. Um I I don't like the way this town and state runs football. Uh it's just it's not nearly as big of a deal. And let's be fair, it's a game. It's just it's a bunch of kids playing a game. I I fully understand that. But living in a state like Texas or Florida or even Pennsylvania, like they put a lot of emphasis on said game. And it could really, it could it could put you to the next level. It could really, we don't expect them to go pro. Far from it. Get an education. Whatever's gonna keep him in school, that's what we want him to do. Right now it's football. So let's hope that it actually works out. But it was a great trip from there. We went to um Phoenix. We got to go to Phoenix. Uh, we kind of teased this a little bit. The last episode, I got to do my very first uh hosting of a uh baseball game. So I work for WM Waste Management. Waste management has a very good relationship with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Uh Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team, local, it's major leagues, the pros here in Arizona. They're up in Phoenix. Um, I they're definitely the team that I watch second most um behind the Texas Rangers. Love Texas Rangers.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, it's our it's a hometown. It is.

SPEAKER_02

I've lived here for so long in Arizona. I was stationed in Phoenix for four years. I've been stationed here for eight. Um, I mean, I spent a lot of my adult years here in Arizona, so I rooted for it. It was the first baseball game that I ever went to to begin with.

SPEAKER_06

Well, and I told you like of the two baseball, the the year that the Rangers the year that the Rangers won the World Series.

SPEAKER_00

Dang right, they won.

SPEAKER_06

They did win. Um, it was the Rangers against the Diamondbacks in the World Series for those of you who don't follow baseball and were under a rock that year. Um and I felt like whoever won, I was gonna be just fine. I was gonna be excited and happy either way. Of course, sad for her.

SPEAKER_02

But I told her that's why. That's why you weren't gonna be happy because you would have had a groomy dog dad that year, and then we would have left.

SPEAKER_06

Oh yeah, that would have been rough. But I would have been perfect, I would have been excited either way. Hometown team won the World Series. So it was let's put it like in a sense of it wasn't like where I could watch a game and be so nerve, it's so nerve-wracking. Like, I'm freaking out, I can't watch it, I'm yelling at the screen, I'm getting mad at like all the players and putting my emotions into it. Whereas like this one, everybody just have fun and whoever wins, wins, and I'm happy.

SPEAKER_02

You know how I wonder, like, what if what if Doodle was literally like just as into football as Mariano and he decided, nope, I'm gonna go to this school, and he gets to make it to varsity as a sophomore, and and and they end up playing each other. Like, how would you feel the same way? Like, whoever wins is great, you know, I'm gonna be sad for the other one, but whoever wins, like, yay, or are you just gonna be a nervous wreck the entire time?

SPEAKER_06

So, no, I would because I would compare that. No, I would compare that, I would be a nervous wreck.

SPEAKER_03

The whole time.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, the whole time. Because I'm in it for both of them. I like I feel like every time they go into sports, to uh like a play or a drama show, performance, to performance, any kind of performance they have to do, any kind of thing that I get just as nervous for them. Like I my heart's beating out of control. Like, I feel like I'm about to do it. It's it's crazy the feelings I'm getting, and I hate it. I hate it because I'm like, I I because then I feel like just maybe they're catching my vibes, and I don't want them to catch my vibes. So I'm like, calm down, we're okay, it's okay, it's all good.

SPEAKER_02

I say a little prayer, and I'm like, okay, it's gonna be even though we're 500 feet away from them in the stands. Yeah, yeah, we can't barely see you.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know how Travis Kelsey's mom does it. The Kelsey's in the Super Bowl. Oh, I I I have no idea. And then you have to deal with the heartbreak of one and the excitement for the other. I don't know how she did it.

SPEAKER_02

I I mean I don't have much of a choice.

SPEAKER_06

I couldn't. Like, oh, my heart would be hurting. I'd be crying for both of my boys for different reasons. And man, it's it's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

So you're getting emotional right now?

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm okay right now.

SPEAKER_02

Putting yourself in that environment.

SPEAKER_06

No, I'm okay right now. It's it's one of the happy weeks for me in my cycle.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Everything is so pretty right now, guys.

SPEAKER_06

Everything's happy.

SPEAKER_02

Don't you just love this weather? 108.

SPEAKER_06

Emotional at all. Not even a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

That's good. Yeah. Yeah, but I got to hold this.

SPEAKER_06

Ask me in like two more weeks. Anyways, back to what this was.

SPEAKER_02

We got to host a client from Tucson in the the waste management suite. We got to watch.

SPEAKER_06

We talked about the waste management suite before because we went as guests.

SPEAKER_02

Did get to go to the suite. It was awesome. Um, we got to get my diano to go to the suite, and I was mad at him for that, and I'll tell you why. I'm gonna tell you why. I got to get my first suite experience when I was 39.9 years old. I was very close to 40 years old, and he walks in all happy and hunkadory at 17 and a half. You kidding me? You spoiled a little turd. Um, he got to watch the game, and and Christy kept uh messing with him because he'd get on his phone and she's like, uh, hello, you're in a suite. There's the game, all you can eat. It was uh it was good, it was a lot of fun. Um yeah, the diamondbacks did not do well. They got their butts handed to them.

SPEAKER_06

It was really bad.

SPEAKER_02

For the longest time, it was like 16 to nothing, and in baseball terms, bro, that it they go by one.

SPEAKER_06

Like, yeah, they got crushed. It was terrible. It's happening, and then it didn't. It didn't.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_06

But it was still fun, still fun experience getting to be in there and hosting the game.

SPEAKER_00

Hosting and talking to clients. Like, that's I'm over here, like, what world is this, man?

SPEAKER_02

I'm hosting a client and and and talking, and we're talking business. We're talking about like, man, you know they're gonna be making buildings out in in the Tucson area. There's a project where they're gonna be working on 11 different buildings at the same time, and they're gonna go with me to it's one of those don't capture chickens before the hatch type of things, but we already have a relationship. The relationship was in place before I even got there, and then I made a good impression, and they were like, Yeah, dude, like we're ready to go. Yeah, so it's super exciting. Um, and I can't wait to do another. I'm definitely gonna look into I'm gonna do as many as they let me. I'll go to that baseball stadium as many times as they let me, but I can't wait to do it again. A lot of fun. I got to bring my wife and my son, and it was it was awesome. Um then the very next day, uh, we got up super early um because we went we had a uh a tea time because we do golf stuff now. We're golfers basically. Yeah. So we went with our buddies Carlos and Marcela, and and um we had to get down here quickly so we could change.

SPEAKER_06

So we had a tea time.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

Because we golf now.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. As you you probably already could tell, but whatever. Um

SPEAKER_06

we were using that I was using I purchased probably 15 years ago with that said they were probably already 15 years old when they when I got them I got them for $75 with a bag that's a whole new set nowadays costs you like six seven eight hundred dollars depending on what kind of brand you get but well I think it's funny because like we've always talked about going golfing yeah and then we're like yeah we'll go and you're like I have clubs and you've been saying that for years I have clubs and you always tell me about how you would lose clubs sometimes um when you go golfing because you like leave them at holes and because you get drunk or whatever. Now I know why.

unknown

Right?

SPEAKER_06

Now I know how you can lose a club because you take a couple because you gotta get it out of the rough and then you gotta put it like I get it.

SPEAKER_02

You were just judging me being like you little drunk son of a gun. Yeah and hold you should be better and then you go to do it and you're like I wouldn't I had like a drink.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah. Um I being a natural born athlete look at you didn't see it just oozing however definitely more difficult than I thought it'd be I have a newfound respect for Cristiano who golfs um he does like the junior PGA golfing and watching them now I'm like oh wow they're really good if you watch like and then and then just watch any like normal golf tournament you're gonna be like this is unbelievable.

SPEAKER_02

Because now I understand it.

SPEAKER_06

Now I get like the difficulty of it. Now let's be fair all not none of the clubs that I used fit me. Or me I don't I don't that's probably why you didn't do good either. No that's not that's because I'm not a good golfer I think you I think had I had better clubs that actually fit me might have been a little better because my um like driving right like when I was hitting the ball far it's called a driver driver I just it wasn't working and like when we're at top golf and the I have the club that actually kind of fits like for women I can like send that ball pretty far. Yeah and pretty straight. In fairness every once in a while every once in a while it'll go to hard left or hard right but for the most part it's like I hit them pretty far and pretty straight. So I was really frustrated. Dude let's go to top golf when I couldn't do it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah we should go to top golf we need to practice like right now like it's a newfound respect you know what I'm gonna do I'm gonna I'm gonna change your on the secret I'm gonna sly I'm gonna start getting private lessons by myself that's not fair and then and then I'm just gonna like show up one day and just be like let me just see how far I can get this bad boy and then boom hole in one yeah and the the crowd is gonna go wild and by the crowd I mean S3 oh my God we've been drinking all day it was fun.

SPEAKER_06

No but let's be I wanted to keep going. We got to the last nine and I think uh the dads had a little too much to drink. First of all it wasn't the dads it was the dad um and they they were like let's go eat but I was just so ready to keep going like it must have been a hundred degrees out there but if I don't know that was warm.

SPEAKER_02

No I was fine I honestly I think they were like okay I'm ready. Yeah which is fine.

SPEAKER_06

We didn't start late it was only we started like nine but I was like I was excited like I was having fun. It was cool I'm like I need to keep doing this because this is really fun. Definitely so I think we're gonna start to get into golfing.

SPEAKER_02

But that was Father's Day so that's the morning of Father's day and I got to go golfing I felt like a bruh I'm I got a good career I'm going golfing on Father's day. Like again what life is this? I'm hosting people in a suite weird. And then uh afterwards we got some lunch um a couple more beers we hung out at the house for a little bit and then uh we went to dinner with the kids um I got all kinds of presents I got um those Weather tech mats for my new truck um I got a bunch of Reese's peanut butter cups kind of love Reese's peanut butter cups peanut butter cups and um well and for those of you that are watching big shout out to Gordy's elementary school because he made me something before school ended and for the like you can't you can't see if you're not obviously watching on YouTube or whatever so I highly suggest you watch on YouTube.

SPEAKER_06

But um it's super cute it's so it's like a little tie so the shape is a tie and has like little section for him to draw pictures in it says my dad and it has all these like the my dad is my dad is as smart as a this says scientist but it doesn't say scientist it says senti.

SPEAKER_02

He spelled he his uh sounded out spelling which is really good cute in test yeah scientist nailed it my dad looks like cool man uh the smartest thing my dad told me is what's four times four um I love my dad because he gets me nice clothes I do I guess um and happy father's day to dad love Gordy that is the most adorable and it even it's funny because he has me golfing up here besides golf because he made this at school like school ended in May and they made it and she she hid it and of course and put it away for him and um you know it's got little he colored the family is like me dad me mom dad sis and brother and I don't know what the heck this is going on down here. Dad me I don't know what we're doing in this picture but you know it's it's just it's a tie.

SPEAKER_06

It's freaking cool it's I loved it it was awesome I was just looking at my mother's day one it's because I I took that one to my office and I hung it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah and the picture says I love my mom because she helps me with my room I was like in the back side it was like my mom is pretty when she wears makeup dang because if she not Thanksgiving turn away yeah it was funny it was mean but we had a really good father's day it was a ton of fun um we ran into our neighbors at dinner and I by chance like you could see uh Miss Kelly the ones we went to uh the juvenile concert with you could see it was like did you tell them we were gonna be here like she was gonna get in trouble. It was awesome though we we that was not planned at all um so they they sat down and had dinner with us we went to the anchor bar here in Tucson highly recommend it's really cool it's a good environment um especially to go watch some football uh that'll be like the biggest thing um but big beers love them that's for me that's all you need what's that I said I don't know service was not not not this time yeah this time it was service was a little sus you know but um we've had really good service especially the dude whenever I threw my lime into my beer yeah that dude was cool um but it's I mean it's great the the pizza logs which they do these little like pizza logs are delicious like egg rolls but they're filled with pizza into yeah and just be careful they're really hot when you take the body my tongue still hurts and that was last Sunday I burned my burned it I just I was I was hungry too because why was I hungry though we had lunch I don't know why I was so hungry.

SPEAKER_06

But you've been drinking all day oh yeah that's probably it I took a big old bite and just like burn the crap out of my tongue. You know that hurt that's the worst thing you could do when you're eating because then you're reminded of that burn. The rest of your meal for the r not only for the rest of your meal but the rest of the week like I'd still feel it on my tongue where like I burnt myself and I'm like this like get over it tongue.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah it's fine you're fine in adult tongue tongue like come on it's annoying one time and then we went to do a my favorite activity in the world we got to go do karaoke.

SPEAKER_06

That was by chance and that was so funny. Like we didn't know it was karaoke we didn't know you were like it mind you Father's Day's on a Sunday night and I have to work on my day so you know so do I yeah you can work off of like an hour of sleep but I was like okay it's Father's day I'm just gonna do whatever he wants to do like period suck it up buttercup like it's his day. Also but it was like seven o'clock at night no it wasn't it was not when we got to the bar no it was not because the bar the anchor bar closed at nine so by the time we were like saying goodbyes and got in the car and they're like wait let's go to anchor bar it was like 945. To Louis to yeah we went to Louis yeah and um we didn't know when we got there because I want to set the scene it was pretty fun it was the funniest thing that's happened to me in a long time I love a good movie scene like a movie scene when it happens in your life right so like this could be like the perfect song comes on at the right moment when you're something fun is happening or just like if your life is a movie this scene is happening right so we walk into Louis this little bar um it's all dark inside there's no windows um it was night anyways but it was all dark and has like kind of like the red lighting you're seeing behind us kind of has that like feel um it's Louis cantina cantina so it's kind of had like a Mexican cantina feel had like a painting of um like a day of the de a muerta it had a really cool like a flower rose wall like it was really cool feeling um so we go to the bar we're sitting there and David comes in he goes so are we karaoke tonight and the bartender she's like well yeah actually he's setting up right now complete joke it was a joke I had zero actual plans I didn't know that Louis did karaoke to begin with because didn't seem like that kind of bar and so I was like what like in instant excitement in his face right and then she goes yeah but you better sign up right away because uh your boy George over there usually dominates on karaoke nights and so all of us he's a really good he's a really good singer so all of us turn to look and in the back corner of Louis there's a pool table cowboy red felt single light shining down on the red pool table felt right behind the single light which makes it look like he was in the spotlight was this cowboy with his hat black cowboy hat tilted down low he's wearing a black shirt he's wearing the blue jeans but the his foot kind of propped up with his boots got a big old belt buckle on a bar stool and there's just smoke around him like the smoke was clearing from around him he hit his vape but right it was a vape it was a vape it wasn't like smoke came out of no or no he had just hit his vape right but that's where it came from but it was like a movie scene and me Kalen Ron just started laughing. I'm pretty sure she took a picture of him too because it was just like it was just like a movie scene of us looking over there and just smoke clearing in this cowboy right in the corner he's the karaoke king of Louis Gantina and I was just it it was just so funny and I I couldn't we couldn't stop laughing after that because we looked again and there he was again I had the old western duel like I swear I didn't see his face for the first like 20 minutes that we were there because every time I was looking there his head was down his foot was up propped on the stool like it was the mind that song that do you wow wow wow like it's about to be a duel I'm like let's go it yeah mine was more like dark and ominous kind of yeah well anyways we signed up and they said he was like yeah the karaoke king guy or whatever and then he comes always like this nice like super cool like guy he was cool he was like oh hey guys and all like that yeah like complete opposite we actually did a song together you did like a like trio trio it was the uh it was the DJ right yeah who looked like he was out of a um 2000s like pop rock band yep correct had the beanie had the um like a did he have like a lip ring type thing like yeah had the had the uh gauges in his ears reminds me of like blink 182 yeah and and yeah we did a bit like neon moon oh my gosh it was just like most there wasn't that many people there no um so we had a lot of rounds of singing and it was getting late and I was like okay time to leave it was getting it was like almost midnight I'm like I gotta go to bed I feel like I crushed it and I did way better than um Cowboy George guy I think you're doing I mean it's a lot better like from I think when season three started of Herm Sounds podcast your voice was kind of raspy bad yep so it's gotten a lot better since then yeah I think it's almost at 100% but sorry I got these I can't so I got this drink at Starbucks before we got here and if you're watching you can see it it's it's like the butterfly refresher or something like that. Lemonade so no I got the water but it's uh you it's got these popping bubbles in a popping bowl popping balls or whatever and I am not I'm a bad like texture person.

SPEAKER_02

You're a bad texture person.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah I don't like textures right especially like in my drinks or in something I'm supposed to drink and this has like popping so I asked for none let's be very clear asked no and even the sticker on there says no popping bubbles. They put them in there anyways so I was like okay I'm not gonna send it back I'm just gonna drink it. But I'm struggling so if you're watching this podcast on YouTube and you see me chewing on random things and like kind of grossing out slightly when it hits my tongue that's what it is. I just clear it out because I had like five come into my mouth right now. Five of the popping bubbles stop looking at me like that I didn't look at you like anything I'm just anyways it was weird.

SPEAKER_00

I mean as that would probably be weird too yeah yeah but it was a ton of fun and then I woke up the next morning we went to work.

SPEAKER_01

That was fine. Yeah it was work. Because that's what I do.

SPEAKER_06

This past week right this last Monday.

SPEAKER_02

Monday yeah yep had a had a great week so far we got another we actually have a quiet week coming up oh my god we'd have like nothing we literally put it in the last week was a quiet week no this this weekend we have a quiet weekend coming up because this weekend uh I literally put into our calendar we're gonna clean the garage so stay tuned people that's a that's a teaser in itself arms are cleaning the garage uh I think I had plans tomorrow morning I bet you do I do tomorrow morning yeah so I forgot to put it in the calendar yeah I bet you did but it doesn't involve me uh cleaning the garage organizing then cleaning the garage tripping I like my dad I know even came down he goes why why does it say we're cleaning the garage tomorrow I'm like because we're cleaning the garage he's like why oh my god I just want to hit them all the time I just want to just on the side of the neck man sometimes I think he tries to rage bait me and then it turns into a uh a lesson because then I'll just go in and and I don't think he meant to no because I'm like you want to rage bait me I'm gonna teach you a parent lesson yep and you're gonna keep rage baiting me and I'm gonna keep going on with my lectures.

SPEAKER_06

Yep bring it on punk that's how that's how you that's how you fight a kid trying to rage bait you turn it into a freaking lesson lecture.

SPEAKER_00

They get so annoyed.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah I love it with all you shouldn't have tried to rage bait me in the beginning exactly just saying and for those of you who actually I feel like that's like a new word rage bait rage bait. So what these kids will try and do is try to be little a holes and like you'll ask them a question and they'll try to be annoying and give you an annoying answer like as if it's their real answer to try and get you angry or like you ask them to do something and they fight you on it in a way that's very calm and very like I but I don't want to do that. But I don't want to yeah to try and rage bait you which means they want you to get mad. They want you to get mad and yell at them angry. This point where here I am as a child trying to do the opposite I was gonna say tell me you've had the the the like softest life in your life that you're you're trying to make your parents mad them to get angry because we're always just chill oh my god now I'm mad at you I just got so mad I'm just mad at you I just got so mad like my whole my whole childhood I'm like trying to be the opposite for rage bait calm calming soothing soothing tones that just like blows my mind my whole life yep and that's this generation because this that's this generation right now on TikTok and Instagram reels and all to rage bait your parents or right now rage bait your partner which also is like a healthy right you also obviously have a healthy relationship you're trying to rage bait them right yeah where my whole life growing up was trying to like opposite don't make the parents rage don't make them mad. Yep you didn't do it on purpose oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

They're literally doing it on purpose. Oh how frustrated is that whatever it's fine I'm gonna go hit the kids uh that being said I'm gonna go hit them all I just rage my I just rage bait myself just got mad because of myself they didn't do anything but I'm gonna go hit them you know what I'm gonna teach them what it was like back in the day you're just you're just sitting there and you just go get hit. Where's my belt? Yeah it's it's it's in my boot. I'm gonna go get it.
